4th ANNUAL POKER RUN IN MEMORY OF SCOTT P. FIFIELD
Scott was a great guy. He had a goofy laugh and sense of humor. He always wanted to talk, even if you had nothing to say, you'd talk for hours. He had a big heart for anyone who would welcome him. He was always helping someone with a project. He loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time in the woods hiking or hunting. He was not disappointed if he did not get a deer. He would rather see the deer grazing or running through the woods. Scott liked to read, dance, listen to all types of music and play volley ball. Scott passed away August 14, 2004 in a motorcycle accident.
On August 25, 2007, Scott's friends and family joined together to organize the 3rd annual Poker ride in memory of Scott. All proceeds were donated to the local animal shelter, Herkimer County Humane Society. The Scotty's ride was 140 miles long. It was a poker run this year with prizes of $250 best hand, $150 2nd best hand, and $100 worst hand. We went on some of Scott's favorite roads. We started the ride at the Ilion Marine Corps League and ended there for dinner, Chinese auction and music by D.J. Expressions. Everything was donated by friends, family and businesses. We raised $4279.00. We also organized a Scottyride.com team for the Mutt Strutt, an event by the Herkimer County Humane Society. We raised $426.00 in Scotty's name. That means, this year was a total of $4705.00.
The 1st annual Scotty ride was August 27, 2005, was a ride through the Adirondacks. We raised $2,637.00 and was donated to the Herkimer County Humane Society. The ride was 90 miles long.
